Shades of Feminity, Singapore
Brand Story Video and Behind The Scenes
Lilia Omietonska is the founder and photographer of Shades of Feminity, a studio specialising in female portraits. In this short film, we go behind the scenes to witness how Lilia conducts her photography sessions and the extra mile she goes to connect with her subjects, making them feel at ease and, most importantly, powerful. As a photographer, I find that having the ability to put out quality work is never enough. We are all service providers, and our job is to ensure that our subjects or clients feel at ease during a photoshoot. In short, it is all about leaving an impression, making them feel great about themselves and having fun. Only then will the pictures taken be worth a thousand smiles. This is what Lilia Omietonska is all about — she adds value into her client’s lives through her love for photography.
Getting your photo taken can be stressful and uncomfortable for many people. I remember always feeling awkward about passport photos or any kind of pictures. That’s why a video that shows behind-the-scenes of your service or product can be a great way to comfort and connect with your audience, especially if they’re facing similar challenges.
For this video, I took a documentary-style approach, capturing the photographer in her natural environment. But before starting, I made sure to introduce myself to the client and break the ice. This is an important step because building a connection with your clients is key to making a good video. It helps create a comfortable environment, leading to more authentic footage.
