The Candleist, Singapore

Melinda Olah is the founder, creator and designer of her line of hand-poured candles, The Candleist. Her love for candle-making has taught her valuable life lessons about self-improvement, motivation, and never giving up on her dreams. As a creative myself, despite loving what I do, I feel that having a mindset that can positively drive us forward regardless of our failures or successes is essential.

Showcasing behind-the-scenes work is a great way to connect with your audience and build trust. In today’s crowded digital world, where many products are similar, standing out is key. One effective way to do this is by sharing your work process. It helps customers understand you and your brand better, appreciate the effort you put into creating your products, and feel like they’re part of your journey and community.

Melinda chose some of her most popular candle pieces, and we got straight to filming her at work. The scenes were carefully framed to highlight how meticulous Melinda is when making her candles. I also focused on capturing her expressions to reflect her personality while working.

The video ended with an inspiring life lesson from Melinda about the "84 candle" rule. It’s about creating 84 candles before starting a business, showing dedication and the importance of not giving up. This powerful message leaves the audience with something to remember and reflect on.
