Empower Fitness, Singapore

Working with Empower Fitness never really feels like walking into a typical gym environment.

You know how some gyms can feel a bit intimidating the moment you step in? Loud music, super intense energy, everyone looking like they already know exactly what they’re doing. Empower was never like that. From the start, Lizzie and the team were very clear about wanting the space to feel welcoming — whether you’re someone who trains every week or someone who’s just trying to survive their first class.

And honestly, that shaped the way we approached the content too.

A lot of fitness content online leans heavily into hype. Fast cuts, dramatic workouts, serious faces, motivational quotes everywhere. Which works for some brands, but for Empower, it would’ve felt a little too forced. Their personality has always been a lot more relaxed, playful, and human.

So instead of trying to manufacture these “perfect fitness moments,” we focused on what naturally happens inside the gym.

The trainers dancing between sets. Lizzie laughing halfway through a workout. Parents bringing their kids along. Someone messing up an exercise and everyone joking about it after. Those little moments that normally get cut out? Those were usually the moments I wanted to keep.

Because that’s the stuff people actually connect with.

It makes the gym feel approachable. It reminds people that fitness doesn’t always have to look intense or serious to matter. Sometimes it can just be fun. Sometimes it’s just about showing up.

One thing we also became intentional about over time was creating content that could actually serve the business long-term. So every shoot wasn’t just about making one Reel or one post. We slowly built up a whole library of natural moments, exercises, behind-the-scenes clips, educational bits, and candid interactions that the team could keep reusing across social media, blogs, and future content.

I think that’s something a lot of businesses overlook. Good content shouldn’t just look nice for one week. It should continue working for you long after the shoot is over.

And honestly, working with Empower is always unpredictable in the best way possible. You never really know what you’re going to capture that day. Maybe someone starts dancing. Maybe there’s chaos during a class. Maybe it’s just a quiet candid moment between people.

But that’s also why the content works.

It doesn’t feel like a gym trying to “market” itself.

It just feels like people enjoying being there.
