Y Coaching Academy

I’ve always believed that first impressions matter. They can make or break things, especially when you’re offering services like coaching or consultation. When I first met Yee Eng, the founder of Y Coaching Academy, on a Zoom call, I could tell it was going to be a great conversation. She was bubbly, fun, smiling, and open to my ideas and feedback. Then, we met face-to-face, and my initial impression became a reality. She was the same in person – cheerful, welcoming, and very receptive. As a coach, this positive persona was perfect, so we decided to bring these traits into her brand story video.

We let Yee Eng be herself on camera – no script, just being candid. In the first few seconds of the video, you can see her natural self, sharing funny stories and being completely open. Then, we had her clients do the same. This helped build a sense of "family," with Yee Eng acting as the lead coach – like a mother or father figure guiding the team.

The main goal was to let Yee Eng speak for herself. Instead of creating a heavy, scripted storyboard, we wanted her audience to form their own views of her. We didn’t want her to hide behind a wall. As coaches, it’s important to show real results, so instead of having Yee Eng’s clients just praise her, we let them share their own stories as coaches. This also gave them a chance to shine, promoting them as coaches as well.

Finally, we paired Yee Eng’s stories with simple scenes of her conducting online and offline classes. This gave the audience a peek into what a coaching session might look like. Her words over these scenes helped showcase both sides of her – as a friendly, approachable person and as an expert in the field, leaving the audience with a strong impression by the end of the video.
