Adapting To The Change (From Photography to Digital Art)

Shavonne Wong is a renowned fashion photographer based in Singapore, whose work has appeared in various online platforms, magazines, and posters. During the COVID pandemic, a downturn in photography jobs prompted her to pivot towards digital art and NFTs.

Leveraging her previous experiences, she quickly established herself as one of Singapore's leading digital artists in the NFT space. We had the privilege of documenting her journey, during which she discussed the changes she embraced, focusing her work on expressing the love and emotions that define her current art.

One of the movements I have experienced is adapting to our current times due to challenges and setbacks. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I performed full-time as a guitarist and singer. Sadly, everything came to a halt when COVID-19 came and swept us off our feet. Without hesitation, I steered towards a new-found passion of mine, which is photography. The pandemic allowed me to practice my skills, and soon, I could make a living from it, mainly helping businesses plan and create content.

In today's world, change can happen at any time, and it is in our best interest to adapt to these changes if the opportunity arises. I knew I had to move away from music because I needed a fresh start after more than ten years of performing. I needed a bigger plan or a more significant cause to help businesses grow and connect with their target audience.

Since many of my friends who own businesses struggled to reconnect with their customers during the pandemic—moving their products or services online, I decided to improve my video and photo skills with hopes of helping them in these areas.
