Find a leader who smiles a lot (The impact of working with a coach)

Y Coaching Academy trains and gathers a supportive, driven community of next-generation coaches who catalyse transformation in themselves and others. In other words, Y Coaching Academy trains individuals to become industry leaders. We worked closely with Yee Eng, the founder and head coach, to produce a brand story video.

In this video, she invited some of her clients to share their personal and passion-driven stories as coaches themselves. As you can see, Yee Eng always smiles and welcomes ideas, which filled our filming day with joy, laughter, and excitement.

Having a coach or a therapist to help you brave through your difficult challenges or situations is important in my opinion. Back then, I was very troubled, primarily due to my childhood experiences—growing up wasn’t a walk in the park for me. These troubles grew up with me, and I could not understand or cope with my actions most of the time. It was only until a friend of mine introduced me to a psychotherapist who worked closely with me to get rid of all the demons in my head.

The truth is, I struggled to find the right therapist for me.

When sharing personal stories with a professional, letting go and being comfortable takes a while. If you do not find the right person to connect with you on a personal level, things will not work out after all.

But how do we know if the coach or therapist is right for us?
Their first impression counts.

First impressions are exceptionally important in situations like these because we will only reveal our true colours after some time or once we feel comfortable with that person. Therefore, the aura or image we give to someone will shape their thoughts— how we smile, speak, and present ourselves.
